OK, so my dad admits prejudice keeps him from seeing "Ray"
At lunch today, we were talking about the Oscars.l

I offered my 82-yo Dad a CD of 'Ray'. He says, "Maybe it makes me a smaller person, but I'm too prejudiced to see 'Ray'.

I wasn't surprised - he's a product of the 1940's. Disappointed, but not shocked.

He continued: "I just can't deal with blind people."

Now, you have to understand that his brother-in-law was blinded in WWII, and he was the World's Biggest Asshole, and he beat the hell out of his sweet wife. Made everyone's life horrible.

My dad helped him out for years with a Blind Golfers tournament, and it was a very unpleasant experience. Anyone else, I'd be insensed. But knowing what my dad put up with, and knowing my Uncle Artie as the asshole he was, I just laughed until I almost fell off my chair.
