Thunder and lightning!
Just started storming like crazy here.

I hope the power doesn't bail!

3. ROTFLMAO
I needed a good laugh! I live in a trailer, and I checked the radar...not a pretty site. You know, they say a tornado sounds like a train? Well, there are train tracks not far away...I hear trains all of the time. So, how do I tell if it's a twister or a train?

6. Trains have a whistle?
I know some tornado/trailer jokes, but I guess right now isn't the time. That's scary. Do you have underground shelter nearby?

Not much traffic out here this time of night (1:20 AM)...Underground shelter? HA! This is Southeast Texas, we don't need underground shelter!:scared:

20. You don't know right away.
The first year that I had moved to MO I was exposed to a tornado. I was a teenager, staying the night at my cousins (she lived near the MO River). I woke up at 3 am and heard a train coming very close to the house. We were out in the country. I woke her up and asked her if the train was always this loud at this time of the night. She replied "What train?", thought for a second and then ran to wake up her parents. We had to take cover immediatly.
The one that followed me down the road sounded like a train too. That time I had to abandon my car and take cover in a really muddy ditch with a 9 month old baby.

11. Me too
So is my Dora kitty...She climbed up in my lap and gave my ear a bath...She compulsively grooms the other cats or the most receiving human when it starts storming.

12. It's just about to hit where I am.
I just got shaken out of bed and came in to check the radar. I LOVE thunderstorms! I'll stay up until it's over just so I can watch it.

17. I'm in Llano
Edited on Mon Feb-28-05 02:35 AM by Lone_Star_Dem
It may not even be the same storm. Texas has been having storms sprout up all over it.

on edit: Llano County, not the city of Llano.

21. It's just our winter rain in Texas...
It's letting up here now, too. I'm not complaining about the rain, it makes the wildflowers all the better.

23. You get winter?
We had snow for xmas eve, but it was nearly 80 the next week. The bubble of hot air over Houston from 41 and Babs keeps winter away now.

24. Most of my annual plants have become perennials.
The USDA is going to have to redo their zone map if this keeps up. I already have bluebonnets that are starting to bloom. In other words, nope, I didn't get winter. :)

22. i don't like storms
i used to but the older i get the weirder i get about them. it's been raining here tonight, near chicago, and they're saying we might have snow.

i'd rather have snow than storms--too many storms lead to tornadoes around here the last few years. i blame bu$h.
