Could we all agree that we won't post images whose links
either try to set a cookie on my (and other people's) browsers, or give my browser a message that the linked-to site has an "unrecognized certificate?"

It's kind of irritating to those of us who are security-conscious and don't accept cookies from just anywhere.

Not bitching, just asking politely. Thank you.

1. Get Firefox, get happy.
Many times people don't realize what the pictures are doing. It's not necessarily the posters fault.

I suggest dumping the obsolete IE Explorer for Firefox. That will solve the problem.

2. I don't use IE, I use Mozilla but can't use Firefox
because I'm not about to "upgrade" to that dreadful System X.

4. What are you talking about?
I use FF 1.0 and I love it. I've only had one problem so far, and it was easily fixed by updating the profile.

5. There's no version of Firefox for Mac System 9,
only for System X. And my workflow doesn't allow me to "upgrade" to X without about $15,000 worth of new software.

3. Since when does DU have popunder ads?
I get about one a day, usually the first time I load the page on a given day. I emptied my cookie jar, ran AdAware, and de-installed the Yahoo toolbar (I don't know what good that would do, since I don't use IE), and I still get 'em.

6. I've never seen a popunder,

just cookie attempts and "unrecognized certificates."

But I have a hosts file that's about 1500 sites long, so my browser simply won't open the popunders from the most popular sites.

PS: Anyone who wants a copy of the hosts file, send me a PM and I'll be happy to send it to you.

8. Well I could let you install a keystroke logger on my computer...
would that help?
