OMG! I have a possible job opportunity that's tailor-made for my talents.
Here's the scoop:

For several years, I've done business with a Connecticut-based CD merchant named Doug. He used to have a store, but he closed it a couple of years ago due to financial problems. Since then, Doug has run a one-man mail-order CD business out of his house. He specializes in reissues and comps of music from the 1950s, '60s, and '70s.

Doug's distributor has gone out of business, which makes it all but impossible for him to obtain foreign titles that many of his customers want. As such, Doug is now looking into becoming a distributor himself.

Thing is, Doug's mail-order business alone keeps him busy 12-16 hours a day. So if he becomes a distributor as well, he's going to need an assistant to help him run the business. Doug wants somebody with computer skills, office experience, and a deep knowledge of '50s, '60s, and '70s music.

Having heard that I had just lost my job, Doug called me over the weekend. We had a nice chat, during which Doug advised me that he had to make a bunch of phone calls today and on Tuesday to see if his dreams of distributorship could come to fruition. He promised to get back to me one way or the other no later than Wednesday.

Even if Doug can't get into the distribution end of the business, he still needs a lot of help with his website (www.disconecd.com). Of the 12,000 titles Doug has in stock, only about 3,000 of them are listed on his page! So even if I were "only" to become Doug's webmaster, I'd still have plenty of work to do for the man.

God, I hope this works out! Cross your fingers for me, gang.
