It's been so long...Flame Fest - Subject: Milk
I think 1% milk is the best. Not too much fat, but it doesn't have that icky blue colour. 2% is ok, but HOMO is just gross.

But I usually only buy vanilla.

Trader Joes makes the wonderful single-serving boxes, so my son can have milk just like all the other kids.

I put dairy on my cereal, but whenever I want a glass, I choose soy. It tastes like a melted milkshake, and wasn't squeeze from anybody's teat.

5. Skim. The only way to go.
Skim and 100% organic. No pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, cattle antibiotics or artificial growth hormones.

Also no traces of blood or pus as is found in regular milk from infected udders.

29. I cannot touch non-organic dairy products.
Cannot and will not. Butter, eggs, milk, sour cream, all of it. Not organic, not going past my lips.

Besides, when we switched to organic milk, we noticed it actually TASTES better. The few times I had regular milk after that, I swear it tasted chemical-ly to me.

9. Eek.
I am very much lactose intolerant, so anything that contains a lot of milk really messes up my stomach. I have to take a pill before I eat things like that (such as ice cream).

So, as you can imagine, I don't drink milk at all. :)

24. The best milk? STRAIGHT from the cow, chilled, but not
HOMOgenized and not pastuerized, with the cream still in it so that you have to shake the container before using it.

(apologies for the blatant puns in here, hope no one is offended - but seriously, I do prefer fresh, real milk over that store bought pastuerized/homogenized shit). But, since I have to drink store bought, I go with whole milk only - I also use half&half, and i use cream when I cook.

Screw skim milk. Might as well drink Carnation Instant Milk shit.

skim - 1% - 2% - Homogenized

All are milk is homogenized, but in Canada we call whole milk homogenized or HOMO. We don't use the term whole milk.

41. They're all HOMO!!!
Homo is short for homogenized which means the fat is broken up and dispersed throughout the milk. Anyone who has ever seen fresh milk (or likewise lactated themselves :7) knows that the milk and the cream separate naturally. Homogenization is the process to keep that from happening. Do you mean whole milk? That's essentially 4%.

My kids were/are raised on skim milk and butter - no weight problems. The youngest is very skinny - takes after her dad. She drinks skim at home, but liked the creamy milk at grandma's. Turns out she was drinking my Mom's half-and-half! (Maybe you had to be there.)

Hey, TMI - who's had human breast milk recently? A friend of mine who had a baby was so productive she was giving out tastes to friends who were curious, in shot glasses. I was surprised at how sweet it is.
