Illuminati - the card game. Who has played/plays?
Edited on Mon Feb-28-05 04:00 PM by Rabrrrrrr
Friends and I used to play the original one - that came in a plastic box from Steve Jackson games, with the small cards, back in the 80s. Hella fun!

I have a full set of the later trading card version, as well as hundreds of extras, but I've never played that one.

I miss playing Illuminati.

2. Heck yes
I did the original game in the 80s - with the tiny cards
and again when the collectable version came out in the mid 90s. great fun.

5. How did you like the collectible version?
It seems like it would be better play than the original.

I'm itching some day to try it.

8. It plays well
they cleared up some of the earlier problems, and added lots of new things you can only do with collectible versions (multiples of one card, rare cards, etc)

Some of the cards were relevant to politics at the time, like Al Gore, Bill Clinton, etc (theres no card for Shrub). It would be nice to see some add-ons for current politics.

a great thing they did was print a 'one with everything' box set, so you could get every card of the basic set. They had different colored borders so collectors' prices were unaffected, but it kept games from being dominated by big spenders who could buy high power cards (like M:TG)

6. I played the origional, I have the CCG
I'm morally opposed to CCG's.. they are too expensive and winning isn't strategy as much as it is how much you spent.
