Police arrested two borough residents on drug charges — one of whom was also charged with endangering the welfare of a child because she used her infant as a cover when trafficking drugs, Patrolman Steve Shadiack said.
Police monitored the Stockton Avenue home of Meghan Gleason, 24, and Joshua Martin, 20, for months after noticing numerous people coming and going from the house, Shadiack said.
The street crimes unit of Seaside Park and Seaside Heights executed a search warrant at about 11:30 p.m. Saturday that led to charges against Gleason and Martin for possession of ecstasy, possession of ecstasy with the intent to distribute and possession of ecstasy with intent to distribute in a recreational zone, Shadiack said.
Gleason was also charged with endangering the welfare of a child because she hid drugs in her infant's diapers to transport them, Shadiack said.
The incident was reported to the state Division of Youth and Family Services, which turned the baby over to Gleason's mother, Shadiack said.
Martin was also charged with attempting to destroy evidence after flushing marijuana and crack down a toilet, Shadiack said.
