It's enough sometimes to make me want to throw the towel in on the whole party. No one up North spells anything incorrectly, and that's a fact, right? We all know that Northerners are superior in every way, as you can tell by the long line of asshole responses to the original Yahoo post.

I grew up in the North but have lived half my life in the South. I know for a fact there are as many, if not more, Yankee dumbasses as there are Rebel ones.

All I can say is, y'all go ahead and run on 15-18 superior Northern states again, and I'll watch the dummies down South here install another Republican president. To be totally honest with you, I don't blame them one bit at all for wanting to tell the uppity Yankees to take a flying fuck. It gets me disgusted enough to want to bolt the party, too, at times. Keep those superior attitudes and long noses to look down, I can see they are a winning combination.

I pointed out, as did Howard Dean in the primaries, how the party needs to be a little less North-centric and a little less smug about itself and the supposed superiority of the North. If you will look at map of the last election, I think my views are born out by it.

It is a slow slog to get folks to even think about their deep prejudices, let alone to see an improvement. I expected to be blown off when I posted. But the issue is a valid one. We are losing votes just because folks do not like that kind of condescending attitude, and I'm just pointing out that we don't have that luxury if we want to win nationally.

It continues to fall on deaf ears. But that's OK. Like I say, it is a slow process. And BTW, I do the same thing when I hear Southerners run down the North.

I've lived "up north" my whole life and never once was I offended by being called a Yankee. The British called us Yankees too and we weren't ashamed of it then either.
