Poll question: Why do most people "quit" DU?

1. I'm sure some leave simply because they

have other things going on. When i'm off on weekends i spend far less time on DU.

5. I can only think of general reasons why anyone decides to not post anymore

1) the poster has been attacked personally more than once
2) some topic near and dear to their hearts continues to be trashed, and they take it personally because it affects someone they know
3) thin skins
4) they don't hangout in the DU Lounge enough first to get their bearings
If they hung out here to get to know how DU works and just want to have some fun, they would learn that most of the DU folks aren't vicious

I often disagree with folks who trash my favorite Dem, but so far I know enough not to be vicious back about their favorite Dem---especially when I haven't met that fav Dem personally. Makes no sense to me, but as Jean Sebelius, the Finnish composer was alledgedly attributed to say, and I am paraphrasing ... No statue was errected to honor a critic.

Some come to DU for a purpose that is far, far more serious than the rest of the community, and when they see 'us fellow liberals' not foaming at the mouth 24/7 about the same issues they are, they get pissed and walk.

Conversely, y'gotta admit sometimes this place is overwhelmed with its own special brand of morons, and it gets to be alot like a virtual reality Porky's.
