3. He was nervous the first few weeks...

But now he's on Speech Team, in the chorus for the school play, a peer counselor and in Harmony (a group designed for acceptance of those who may be different than ourselves - pretty cool, his meeting tonight is on gay/stratight/transgender...)

He likes going to football/basketball games and the school dances.

AND he's got a 3.00 GPA (considering his mental disabilities that's HUGE!)

So, in short, he loves it (plus girls call him on his cel now :* )

the Harmony thing sounds like something fundies would try to put the kabosh on because of "promotion of homosexuality" or something. :eyes: that is cool they would have that in a high school though!! :thumbsup:

10. The last meeting was on different religions

and there were 12 different religions represented by the students at the meeting (pretty good for a school of 1300 kids).

He really likes the meetings.

19. I think it started as a knee jerk to Columbine

and it's now a real neat place for kids who aren't in sports/choir/religion groups. Just a crazy catchall that everyone is respected!

2. Love the plants

I'm quite partial to having a bunch of plants, too- I have several pots full of dirt on my porch and I just allow whatever wants to grow, to grow. Especially since I am on the second floor of an apt. building- I have a pot that just grows grass, with a little lawn bunny in it. :)

We like to just let things grow, and if it is particularly nice, dig it out and plant it in the woods outside our apt. complex. Thinking of trying apple trees this year- though not sure if it will work out!

4. I try to plant seeds in my pots each summer and see what comes up

We live right above a wetland preserve (which is beautiful but almost pure clay...so not many flowers) so I do most of the 'pretty' things in pots.

Weather in Indiana can be somewhat spontaneous, though- so not sure how well it could work, lol. Corn seems to do just fine! :)

27. Tomatoes and Green Peppers are okay on my land...

but I can't seem to get corn to grow....in Iowa!!! It's a sin!!

I plant cherry tomatoes so my hubby can grab a handfull and eat them with supper...Yum!!!
