2. I dunno...
It's the blue wet spot on the white fabric that seems to tickle his fancy most. Don't ask me why.

5. I don't think he's ever seen a diaper commercial...
But he does laugh a lot when I change his diapers. Maybe that's it.

16. So why do they do it at all?
I must confess I've never watched any such commercials all the way through - just noticed my baby giggling at the blue spot during the Stay Free ads.

19. I don't know.
I remember back when they had the tubes in the home pregnancy tests that if it turned blue it was a positive. We always held the tubes up against white paper-it made it clearer.

20. So... is the point of the blue in Stay Free and diaper ads that they're
supposed to represent stains?

I don't remember the tube HPTs... the ones my wife used had one (negative) or two (positive) blue lines.

23. It is supposed to represent a leak
that can be easily absorbed, I think.

They HPT's that had tubes were in the late 80's through the mid 90's. By then, everyone had gone to the sticks.

24. Well, it's all begining to make sense now. Thanks!
My baby watches all the Baby Einstein tapes - which use a lot of primary colors. That may be what he's responding to.

25. That does make sense now.
It represents leaks-and the blue shows up brightly against the white.

6. I don't know, but they still put their ads on TV - reruns, perhaps?
Edited on Mon Feb-28-05 06:57 PM by Seabiscuit
No, wait - no one re-runs ads - someone has to pay for them.

17. when my son was a toddler
he was transfixed by a poster of Mariah Carey we saw in a store. He loved it. My guess was that he saw that she had prominent "methods of milk production," but it could have been that she had long hair like me. Never figured that one out.

he just loves it when he's out in public in his baby carriage and women flock around him cooing about how cute he is.

Then again, he's never seen a Mariah Carey poster.

21. it was the strangest thing
I am not a fan of hers, so it was kind of weird. Kind of like culture overwhelming everything else, very primal?

oh the babies love to be cooed over. Aw. I miss that age.
