WOWSA! That's some potent coffee! (French press thread)
After seeing a French press used on Queer Eye, and being a huge fan of coffee, I bought one last night. I used it about a half hour ago, and now I feel like someone injected sweet sweet caffeine directly into my bloodstream. I'll have to say that it was just about the best coffee I've ever tasted!

Go buy a French press. Right now. Do it.

2. I love coffee from a French Press
I always pre-heat mine with hot water, so it is steaming hot and that tastes better than the coffee that is not as hot from my coffee-maker.

Just about raised my caffeine titer to acceptable levels. We have both a french press and a drip coffee maker-- the key is fresh grind and a generous hand with the beans. Yum.

5. Is it better than the plain old coffee sock?

Filled with coffee and run through twice and squeezed?

If you have one of those metal mesh coffee filter basket-thingies, pour the coffee through that into your cup to catch those nasty little stray gounds.

I'll try it for tea tomorrow. I need to get some of the loose leaf stuff first.

12. I got one half-price and took it on my camping trip
I used to make cowboy coffee in a two liter pan. When I saw that Bodum press for sale at Caribou Coffee, I just had to try it. I had them coarse grind some Peaberry Beans for me and when I tried it...Wow! Good Morning! I never had such good coffee. Sunrise over the Henry Mountains and caffeine in my brain.

14. Get a bigger one or make two pots.
Mine makes 8 cups. Just enough for my morning caffeine fix, or enough for an after dinner treat for two. It rinses out easily, if you need more.

/still enjoying a caffeine buzz
