Jeff Nelson took exception to a Fenway employee cheering for the Sox while working in the Yankee Bullpen. I can understand him being annoyed slightly, but not to the point where he needed to confront the employee. As far as Zim goes, why oh why did he have to charge Pedro. Pedro did not seek Zim out. HE was in a no-win situation when Zim charged him.

The indignation on the part of the Yankees fans is ludicrous. I was at the game and had an excellent view of Zimmer going after Pedro, and Garcia cleting Walker.

Karim Garcia slid at least five feet past the second base bag to try and take out Walker. No one seems to be pointing that out. The Yankees were blameless in all of this according to some.

The Yankees have been overpampered crybabies for as far back as anyone can remember. And baseball's ruling bodies love it that way, because they think it increases fan interest to feed the New York franchise. Seriously, when was the last time you saw a crucial call go against the Yankees? Whether it's Reggie Jackson knocking down a relay throw in the World Series, a fan interfering with a batted ball on the field of play, or Don Zimmer attacking the opposing team's pitcher, the Yankees always benefit from the close call.

Any other coach in the league would have been summarily tossed for Zimmer's antics, without question. But because he wears those pinstripes, the league office will probably fine or suspend the player for throwing the stupid old hack to the ground, and Zim spent the rest of the game in the dugout.

Then New York had the nerve to talk about an atmosphere of lawlessness at Fenway! Yeah, and the biggest offender was sitting on the Yankee bench.

I was at Fenway yesterday. There was tension, but no one was misbehaving in our section-and we were RIGHT BEHIND the Yankee dugout. My nephew was in the belacher and he was surrounded by rowdies-but the bleachers are known for that.
