Poll question: What should happen to OSU linebacker Robert Reynolds?
For those who missed it Ohio Sate lost to Wisconsin last night 17-10.

Recap here
http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/sports/2001764242_wisconsin12.html

MADISON, Wis. — Lee Evans was in danger of being shut out by Chris Gamble's blanket coverage and linebacker Robert Reynolds' dirty play that sidelined Wisconsin's starting quarterback.

Schabert, a junior who had just two touchdowns tosses in his career, was in because starter Jim Sorgi was injured when Reynolds shoved his fingers into his throat in the third quarter.

As a lifelong fan of OSU I was embarassed and disgusted. There has to be some sort of punishment by Coach Tressel if he is establish that he is the steward of a class program. What should be done?

I know you can only vote once so I am throwing in several options that may overlap each other, sorry.

1. I voted to suspend him and revoke his scholarship.
But I could live with the first option, too.

2. #1 was my first reaction
But your vote seems to be the COMPLETE right thing to do. I know it was a momentary act and Tressel knows the guy better than we do so his assessment of the situation is more informed to be sure. If this is out of the young man's nature then a game should do it, if this is not surprising the school should at least suspend him and get him some help (I should have included that).

4. I voted one-game suspension

..at least. There has to be a punishment, and that seems fitting. I don't want to see the kid's career ruined over one incredibly stupid action.

Michigan's Marlon Jackson took a bottle to a kid's head recently and Michigan gave him one game off.

However, whatever Tressel does (and he will do something) will be fine with me.

5. In fact I do want to see his "career" ended
because that kind of play--throttling followed up by the casual knee to the head--is the kind of maneuver only pros should be allowed to participate in: let those who know how to play dirty and end another guy's career do it and let amateurs (come on! he can't even crush a little QB's windpipe?) take a permanent shower

6. Media scrutiny
This isn't even showing up on ESPN or any of the cable networks. How is that possible?

On the Miami Hurricane websites on Sunday, posters were screaming that if a 'Canes player had done that or similar, it would have led off every Sportscenter for a week, with geniuses like Rick Reilly renewing cries to dump football.

Tressel seems like a class act with proper perspective. I expect a more severe punishment than some are guessing.

9. I was thinking it was due to being a late-ish game and a long sports day

Lots of other stories (Yanks/Red Sox melees/other upsets). I haven't heard anything about it but that also could be because the OSU wand UW press are letting Tressel handle it, Alvarez may be giving him time to deal with it. Just a guess.

7. Other
Get him signed by the Raiders.

Seems fitting, doesn't it.

Oh, sorry. Must be at least 30 years old to play for Oakland.

Oh well. Then suspend his ass!

8. Story doesn't say much...
Was there a penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct?

10. No
You could only see it on the replays. When the pileup cleared up Sorgi was holding his throat in the international (and natrual) sign for choking just as any CPR class tells you.

11. From experience...
All sorts of unpleasant things happen at the bottom of those piles, but this seems clearly over the top. Somebody suggested that Reynolds should be suspended until Sorgi is fit to play again (or at least one game). That's seems fair.
