I've stepped into the fray. Am I crazy? Yeah. But I would like a stopwatch to see how long it takes me to get banned.
Here's my opening post:
http://pub168.ezboard.com/fanncoulterofficialchatfrm1.showMessage?topicID=21319.topicI'm new, I have different beliefs from you, et cetera. Howdy.
Anyway, I'd love to know what problem y'all have with the concept of gay marriage?
If you want to be homophobic, that's fine. My own sexual preferences are irrelevant, but in all truth I honestly don't care that much if you support men being penis-enthusiasts or not. You can even find such a thing immoral. Whatever.
But why are you focusing on marriage? How does allowing a gay couple to be husband and husband affect heterosexual married couples at all? You can still marry whoever you want. You can even have church services, which in your eyes may lend it more legitimacy than gay marriages confirmed by justices of the peace. It doesn't seem to threaten your own interests at all.
As for the moral issue, what do you hope to accomplish from allowing gay couples to commit to each other as a man and wife would? Do you really expect Adam and Steve to say, "Oh well, we can't have a wedding! I guess we'll go straight!"? Banning gay marriage would seem to do nothing to prevent gays from being gay, and would if anything prevent promiscuity among homosexuals.
So... what's wrong with it? Why does marriage have to be 'protected?'
On that note, I will accept you banning me for disagreeing with any of you. But I want you to remember that I am being polite, cordial, and (I hope, at least) eloquent in my posts. If you feel that you must ban me, it will be because you fear me.
