Tell me I'm not the only one!! Gilmore Girls, Smallville, now Tarzan...I cannot get enough!

I lived for years without a television and didn't miss it. When I finally had one again, I watched PBS, Discovery...you know, SMART TV. The occasional sitcom creeped in, but generally I was the TV equivalent of an NPR listener: snobbish, particular, and condescending.

Then it was Gilmore Girls. I rationalized that the show was so well-written, so smart and funny, that it was the exception to the drecky WB rule. Even when I was watching the show just for Dean and Jess, I still told people, "But the dialogue is so good!" (This is the WB-watching equivalent of "I read Playboy for the articles.")

Smallville appealed so strongly to my inner geek that I initially watched it because of the Superman mythos. I mean, I watched it for the first ten minutes for that reason. After that it was because of, well...



Despite the rampant prettiness of the lead actor, Smallville is still occasionally smartly-written and intriguing. So I can sort of justify that it's must-see TV for me.

With the new Tarzan series, there is no such justification. It is dreck, pure and simple. But, well...



I mean, what's a girl to do?

Is there some sort of support group I can join? God help me, I've started watching One Tree Hill, which is so bad I think it's one of the signs of the apocalypse. Help! Help!

6. Yes, Rory does have quite a forehead...

I think Lorelai (the older Gilmore) is pretty good. The dialogue is snappy. :)

But as always, YMMV. :)

I don't even know where the WB is on my local cable - I think it's channel 13, but I always come across it by accident. :D

I mean, it's not like I'd be all into the plot or anything. I think GG is on Tuesday nights, right? (I seem to remember that anyway). Too bad I'm at the pub answering trivia questions most of the time. The times there are no trivia contests I feel lost on Tuesday TV - I never know what's on. :crazy:
