1. Three, but...
My parents divorced when I was 8 and my sister was 4. They each went on to get remarried and have a child, so I have a sister that's 3 1/2 years younger, a brother that's 14 years younger, and another brother that's 18 years younger.

6. do you think
That your place in the family...or the fact that you come from a large one, had any impact on your personality?

Really. You Don't Know What You Got When You Don't Have It.

11. What sucks most about being an only child:
Not being able to blame siblings for stuff you did.
Not being able to deflect your shortcomings onto lazier, more shiftless siblings. (Yeah mom, well Johnny got a tattoo and is dating a HOOKER!!!)

13. I blamed the cats.
Mom didn't buy it. Like a cat couldn't knock over a lamp.

17. Youngest of 13
if you count all of them. Youngest of 6 if you only count the full siblings. Youngest of 7 if you only count blood siblings. Youngest of 13 if you count steps.

Nobody at school could ever beat me up - I learned to defend myself against my much bigger, older siblings very young, so the kids my own age were easy by comparison. You still don't want to come up behind me without warning unless you want a bloody nose.

18. There were six of us.
That includes "steps and halves," as my Irish neighbor used to say. In other short, I had a stepbrother, a half-sister, two brothers and a sister.

19. Oldest of 10
but 6 of those were adopted. I don't which would be crazier - having that many biologic kids or adopting that many kids. When I was living & working in Omaha I was involved in research that included looking at sibship sizes. Western Iowa, especially, seems to have some astoundingly large families.
