Poor Bill O'Really: Only lasted one week at #1 til Al bumped him off.

Last week Bill O'Reilly's new book bumped Al Franken's book off the NYTimes bestseller's list after Al was #1 for 5 weeks straight. (and to give Bill credit - no bulk orders either).

But Bill's ride at the top was to only last for a week. When the book buying public had to choose between Bill and his arch-nemesis Al Franken - they chose Al.

Congrats Al - 6 weeks now at #1 on the NYTimes bestseller. But you know, Mike Moore could be knocking you off next week!!!

Other top #10 notables - Laura Ingram(+) is sandwiched by Molly Ivins and Paul Krugman (who sell their books the old fashioned way - one person at a time). David Limbaugh has been bulked to #10. I guess someone has to pay for Rush's stint in rehab for the next 30 days. Poor Ann Coulter, with one shrill in the top 10 I guess they can't afford to cheap bleach blondes. And yes, Michael Moore's "Stupid White Men" is still on the list after 70 weeks

Edit Note: That David Limbaugh book has been out for weeks now. They probably bulked it since they figured they're losing another Limbaugh to OxyContin

3. This is a point we need to try to hammer home...

All of the right-wing books on the list have that little dagger (+) next to their name. None of the liberal authors have that dagger. They got on that list because people wanted to buy their books, not because of bulk orders.

(Of course, they will just say it's because the NYT is "liberally biased")

I just finished Sidney Blumenthal's - "The Clinton Wars" it was GREAT! Definitely a must read; really a comprehensive look at the Clinton's White House - I was almost in tears on chapters 17 & 18. :(
