I realize there is a significant movement here where a bunch of folks have already cancelled their cable. This is for the rest of you.
By now, if you're an Adelphia cable customer, you've seen the new service plans set to go into effect in November. They say it's an improvement over the previous system; if by that they mean massive price increases for more of the same crappy programming, I suppose one could possibly make that argument. By my math, I guestimate the effect of the changover is about a 18 to 20 percent price increase, pretty steep considering a deflationary economy.
I downgraded my service severely, letting them know that I'm not a happy camper, and I suggest that all of you do the same. The only reason I had the "Ultimate Advantage" package in the first place was because I got broadband internet AND all eleventy thousand channels of crap for around $100. I really couldn't see giving them an extra $25 for the same crap.
I don't like being played for a sap, and I doubt you do, either, so I have a nifty idea. After playing armchair CEO and 'downsizing' your cable, why not send Adelphia <a href=
