Poll question: Favorite Daytime Soap Opera
CONFESS

You love them and you follow them. I do!

I am off work on Mondays and if I'm at home I'll watch "The Bold and the Beautiful" (and maybe parts of As the World Turns). I love that soap - it's so freaking cheesy!! But that cheesiness makes B&B one of the most watched TV shows around the world (Italy can't get enough of B&B. The soap films a remote there at least once a year and the Italian fans go nuts when the cast is there).

So come on - what is your favorite daytime soap opera!!

1. Y&R Here
I confess: I've been watching since I was in high school. I'm now 46.

Yesterday Ashley showed up for the Newman's big fund raising event in a bathroom with a baby blanket. She's gone bonkers and thinks her miscarried son is alive.

Gina's restaurant was torched and it wasn't the mafia, it was Lily's enraged older boyfriend avenging Colleen for telling Lily's parents about them. Colleen was somewhere in the blazes. Her older boyfriend J.T. is coming to the rescue.

Victoria got a furtive kiss from her new boyfriend, the handsome black chemist from Jabot.

I ask you, where on nighttime television can you get all that?

2. Holy Batcrap - Ridge DIED???
I just read the recaps on http://www.soapcity.com (I couldn't watch on Monday) and freaking Ridge died on Bold & the Beautiful. And I don't think this is a "Come back from the dead" death. The guy was freaking incinerated.

Holy Batcrap this is major. He's one of the 4 original cast members of Bold & the Beautiful (along with Eric, Stephanie and Brooke). Plus they just killed his wife off about a year ago (And that was another 'She's definately dead' death.

YIKES!!!

10. Well he did fall into a pit of fire........
.....can't see him coming back after that...but ya can't ever be too sure about the *creative* writing that may bring him back from that somehow! :D

13. Did Stephanie blame Brooke?
But I don't think Ridge is dead. Ronn Moss hasn't left the show.

I got hooked on it when I was unemployed for 2 months earlier this year.

In high school I watched GL and in college I watched Another World.

11. I've been watching GH for over 20 years
Since I was a freshman in high school. Laura hadn't even married Scotty yet when I started watching-she was on trial for killing some guy she had a crush on.

I can't believe they killed off Stefan yesterday! I always liked him. Then again, nobody is really ever dead on GH except Steve Hardy, Jesse Brewer and Aunt Ruby (their portrayers died). And Robert Scorpio, it appears, much to my continued disappointment.

15. Yes, interesting...
of course, I hadn't watched yesterday's tape yet, you SPOILER!

Eh, no hard feelings -- Luke did do a number on him with that knife on Friday, after all.

28. Actually, TECHNICALLY, Stefan killed HIMSELF.
He took Luke's hand, while they were struggling...and then he plunged it into his own chest. I have been watching GH for years, myself ...started watching it when I was a kid with my mom. I can't help it...It's one of my weaknesses. Oh, but I never got onto that Brenda/Vanessa Marcil bandwagon. I can't stand her.

21. Yeah, why are they doing that?
That sucks. If they kill off 'John Black' (which I've heard they're going to do), it sucks even more. IMHO, he's the best character.

18. Santa Barbara
was the best. Mason was a great character - snide, witty, alcholic and handsome - yee ha.

Keith and Gina were a hoot, some of their bedroom scenes were hilarious. SB was great because it didn't take itself too seriously.

Springfield is my guilty pleasure...

Got hooked while I was hurt in a water-skiing accident and was off my feet for a month. A friend who came over to make my lunch every day turned me on to it.
