Ok, Someone finally keyed my car.
Edited on Tue Oct-14-03 07:35 PM by AP
This is the first time this has ever happened to me. I'm oddly calm about it. But I would feel better if I knew that people who do that shit sometimes get caught and get their asses kicked.

Anyone here ever catch someone in the act of vandalism and get a little justice, Wild West style or otherwise?

3. As much shite as gets thrown around here..
You know it wasn't one of us Clark/Dean/Kerry, etc. folks! I'm just amazed that a wingnut would find an endorsement of a Democratic candidate sufficient incitement.

4. You think someone keyed your car because you had a Dem candidate

5. Do unto others
Where did you last have your car? Did their carpark have any security cameras in operation? When in Rome, do what he Romans do. In the US, do what the US does: Sue. As a country, that's the only thing we produce anymore and it can usually pay off big. Bigger than the lottery.

They also make microcameras; you can buy a bunch and a tape recorder and have a quaint security system goin' on. Once the bastard keys away, you've got a smack-full-frontal view of the bugger's face. Go to the cops and sue his pants off. (of course, you may not want to see what's behind the pants, but chances are it won't be very much, hence the aggressive tendency...)

Personally, I'm tempted to get the bumper stickers with a magnetic backing. When I drive, I'll put up "I support our troops. Does President Bush?" When I arrive, the sticker goes away. I still risk road rage, isn't America just a lovely country?

6. At my condo complex in Tampa, my tire was flattened.
I had an "Iraq Attack, NO!" bumper sticker on my car.

Nice people.

9. These right wingers are VERY dangerous
and as their heroes are getting exposed (Limbo, the traitors in the WH, etc.) they will lash out.

Lately it seems that whenever I get near a car with a flag in the rear window (usually a LARGE suv like an Excursion, etc), or a car with Bush/Cheney stickers or some tripe, they are doing something anti-social, like (here in NYC metro) driving the breakdown lane, cutting off others, tailgating, etc.

I saw a mini-van yesterday on the NJ Turnpike with large signs saying "USA: love it or get the Fu## out" (yes, it was the real word, I kid you not). And "Nuke Iraq". Do you think that this mutant would hesitate for a second to pull out a gun if his sense of well being was threatened? I sure don't. There are lots of mentally unbalanced freepers in normal times, but with what has happened recently, it may push someone over the edge.

Maybe I'm a wimp, but I'm not putting out my "Keep Abortion Legal" and my "Got WMD's" bumperstickers in this climate. It's a sad commentary, but a prudent one, for me anyway.

14. Ideologically, we've been in civil war for some time. They want to
up the ante.

But they are so cowardly, they want to manuver the opposition to pull the first punch.

Since we're probably beyond the point of a civilized society in this country, we need to pull the same shit they do. Make THEM pull the first punch.

And it's sad America is this polarized and jaded and immature and vile and vicious... And you're right, these right wingers do seem to be the more vicious. But I don't even think the 1960s were as bad, but at least they had the hippie counterculture. Today, we've got nothing except a populace who'll lie down and demand they get rammed and abused.

Thanks Bush. Thanks republican (neo-con) party. Now go back to Hell where you belong. x( x( x(

12. That's too bad.
Maybe you should file a police report. Many parking lots have surveilance cameras. It could be they caught whoever did it in the act. I don't think they should be allowed to get away with it.

16. Michael Savage -- RockStar Energy Drink SUV keyed in SF
RockStar Energy Drink parks their SUV on Pearl Street in SF (near my office). Guess who owns RockStar? Yep, Michael Savage. http://www.michaelsavagesucks.com/ (use 'find' to locate the RockStar link)

Long story short, someone has keyed the SUV in a *fierce* way. I don't condone this behavior in any way but when I saw the SUV, it reminded me of all the DUers who have suffered the same.

This probably doesn't make you feel any better but... FYI.

17. Never caught anyone
I've only been keyed once, and that was by an ex-girlfriend (I think). I have an alarm on my pickup, and I usually try to park it where I can see it. The alarm's not going to go off over a key scratch, but it doesn't take much.

People around here pretty much leave me alone. I'm not that big, so I guess I just must look mean.
