When I was surfing to find the songs for my Dylan poll, I found a thread (on what turned out to be a baseball board) where several people said their favorite Dylan song is any that's sung by another artist.

That said, my Other vote is "My Back Pages" by the Byrds, and I wish you'd put Warren Zevon for "Knockin' on Heaven's Door" for what I hope are obvious reasons.

I love the Manfreds--especially their old stuff (Cock a Hoop, Kingpin, etc.) My dad used to work with their old guitar/horn player, Mike Vickers (who went on to work with Robert Moog, and conducted the orchestra during the All You Need is Love live telecast). Manfred Mann played my dad's going-away party, when he left the UK for Bangkok in 1963!

I am fond of Shawn Colvin's version of "You're Gonna Make Me Lonesome When You Go," from her CD "Cover Girl."

14. My personal favorite is Jimi's "All Along the Watchtower"(what else)

However, upon seeing the Brian Auger \Julie Driscoll version of "This Wheel's on Fire" I was reminded that the Byrds in their Clarence White on lead guitar reincarnation did an excellent live version of this song on their very underrrated two side disc "Untitled". One side live,one studio.
The Band also did this one very well.For that matter,so did Brian Auger and Julie Driscoll.Wonder what happened to them,particularly Driscoll.She was very lovely,nicknamed"Jools", I believe.Think the whole band name was the Brian Auger\Julie Driscoll Trinity.

It's funny, I think the version of "This Wheel's on Fire" that's the theme song for AbFab was performed by Julie Driscoll and Adrian Edmondson of "The Young Ones."

Dylan toured with the Dead. They did a live album together. The Dead released "Postcards of the Hanging"...all Dylans tunes and they nailed them!

I find myself listening to that song several times a week. I remember when he first came out with his version and it blew everybody away.

Every song on this poll is outstanding and all performed by some damn good groups. Brian Auger/Julie Driscoll really enjoyed their music. The Band one of the best groups ever. Such a unique sound. One of my favorites from The Band was "Get up Jake".

24. How could it be anything other than 'Watchtower' by Jimi Hendrix?

This is the most mind-boggling rendition of just about any song in the entire rock canon. Hendrix made it his own. Those hellish swoops and moans of the guitar in the coda send shivers up my spine to this day. Hendrix' delivery, angry and powerful, trumps Dylan's plaintive style. I am still in total awe everytime I hear that song.
