Ah, the post office - geography wizzes they are not.
So I go to the post office today... I am sending my radio demo tape to a CBC position up North...and I MEAN up North, Iqaluit to be exact...inside the Arctic circle. Anyway, the girl behind the counter asks me where it's going and I tell her Nunavut, "Is that in BC?" Is the answer I get...I felt real good handing her my future to ship off after that.

Anything like this happen to anyone else today? I'm in the mood for funny stories.

1. Happens to us all the time down here
I love it when my wife tries to pay for something by check at the grocer. The person at the check out looks at her drivers license and invariably assks, "what state is this?" She has had no reason to change her drivers permit, so it is still her original Manitoba permit. You wouldn't believe some of the confused looks we get.

4. NAFTA started our annexation of Canada, it allows us to take their energy
whenever we need it. x( That is the price of "free" trade, folks.

6. I will be happy to convey any messages to
Brian Mulroney while he is here (he's supposed to be here sometime this week as I understand it). I am sure that you probably have some warm wishes to send, eh?

8. United Airlines
I was in the check-in line in Denver. The lady asks "Where are you going?" I said "Lihue, Kauai." She said "Oh, I'm sorry, international flights are over in the other line." I thought maybe Hawaii had been "liberated" by some other country while I'd been gone.
