I'm sorry but it's hard to root for teams that are so damned sloppy and unprofessional.
I swear I haven't seen a Red Sox player within 15 feet of first this series (save for Varetek). Hustle DAMNIT! You never know when Johnson is going to get a fish is his glove and if you aren't there you can't take advantage. They mope around like they expect to lose.
And last night in and after the eighth inning the Cubs were walking around as if they had already lost. They had two at bats left, get your head up!
I swear a lot of it has to do with how they carry themselves. When you are on the field (any field)
Head up Eyes open Shoulders square Feet shoulder width apart On the balls of your feet Shouders over your toes
That is the "athletic position" and little things like that go a long way. And for crying out loud get some damned uniforms that fit you. This "working class hero" bulls**t has got to go, you are millionares and supposed to be professionals so act like. You look like slobs and you end up playing like it too. You would never see a New York Yankee (even Wells)or a Brave (yeah okay bring it on) look that sloppy, enough with the sweat stained hats and gummed up helmets, those people pay good money to come and see you at work so look and act like you didn't just roll out of bed.
These are things you were supposed to be taught the first day you ever put a uniform on.
