What do you think of my vacation plans for next year?

Lucky me, since I've been at my job for 10 years (Gasp, how the heck did that happen?) now, I got a bonus week of vacation. So, I now have FIVE weeks of paid vacation, almost like I'm living in Europe or something. ;-)

Anyway, we have to submit our schedule for the entire year in advance so adequate coverage can be coordinated. Here's what I've come up with:

Week of July 25 — RAGBRAI (weeklong cycling event in Iowa)
Week of Aug. 23 — Burning Man (This one is more tentative but want to keep my options open.)
Week of Aug. 29 — Repug convention in NYC (Somebody asked me why I would want to go to the GOP convention. I just smirked.)
Week of Oct. 25 — Spend the week wherever helping whichever Dem get elected president

The remaining week I broke up to have scattered long weekends throughout the year.

Now this is not to say that I will have the money or the opportunity to make all of these things happen, but doesn't it sound like it would be an incredible year if they do? A girl can dream anyway, can't she? :D Anyone care to join me?

That's in addition to 12 paid holidays and 12 sick days, 3 of which can be taken for personal business.
