Are there Cubs and Red Sox fans in Freeperland?
I'm just wondering...you all who can stand to hang out there: is there a correlation between rooting for a team that, well, struggles and usually doesn't win, and being a Democrat?

I'm not trying to say the Democrats are "lovable losers," but it occurred to me that part of the RW pathology is to identify with the most powerful dominatin' ratbastard you can find...so I would expect there to be less love for the Cubs and Sox over the way than there is here.

Anyone been there to check it out?

C ya,

The Plaid Adder

1. Doubt it, because in baseball itÕs 3 strikes and youÕre out.
Do they really have a clue?

2. Freepers may not be Cubs Fans.
Being a Cubs Fan calls for patience, tolerence, intestinal fortitude, blessedness and humility.

Freepers possess none of those qualities.

Freepers want everything, right now!!! Therefore, they can never be true Cubs Fans.

3. why do people try and link sports and politics
its fricking ridiculous and annoying. Sports fans come in all stripes. Heck I bet the percentage of serial killers who are Yankee fans or Red Sox fans are in the same ratio as Repukes, Welders, Plumbers, Accountants etc.

4. No. Freepers go with the big money teams or teams with winning
histories. They have no compassion for the "little guy"/underdogs.
They're the ones that go out and buy hats, jackets and other merchandise of a championship team after that team wins it all and brag how they rooted for them all along.

Freepers = Assholes!

5. Bullshit
I am a progressive Democrat AND a Yankee fan.
And so are many others on this board, by the way the Red Sox have either the 2nd or 3rd highest payroll AND were the last team to integrate so stop laying that Yankee fans are freepers bullshit on me.

8. That wasn't the question.
You can be a Yankees fan, and a Prog Dem.

You can even be a Yankees fan and a repug.

But...you can't be a Cubs/Bosox fan if you're a freeper.

10. I,m not saying yankee fans per see.
NY is a very progressive liberal city and the REAL fan base probably leans to the left.
We're talking freepers here who identify themselves with and icons of power and wealth.

6. So what happens...
..if the Cubs and Sox win and they both go to the World Series? Who do you root for then?

I'd say ALL baseball teams are rich. Big Sports is Big Sports it doesn't really matter how many games the teams win. The players, coaches, and other assorted team members still have more money than most.

I'd guess that you'd find about the same ratio of fans for all four teams on FR that you'd find here.

I'd be EXTREMELY suprised if DU doesn't have alot of Yankee fans..they are from NY after all.

7. Yes
A democrat would be a Pirates fan, a team with a low payroll.
