WHOLLY CRAP!!! Leaves Are A Fallin' AGAIN!

i absolutely LOVE fall here in New England, BUT i have a TON of trees (maples and oaks) AND a stone wall around my back yard (3/4 acre). that means the start of leaf cleanup season for me.

usually takes FIVE STRAIGHT WEEKENDS to get rid of the buggers :grr:

so, who else has 40-50 PICKUP TRUCKS full of leaves to deal with this year?

my ONLY hope is that it doesn't f*cking SNOW (like last year) before I can get them all up

1. I'm there with you

3/4 of an acre. Plenty of trees and a forest next door. Also, the prevailing winds push all of my neighbor's leaves up against a fence adjacent to my yard.

Good thing the town will still pickup our leaves by the curbside! No charge!

We have several trees in our backyard, but we always end up getting the leaves from our the trees next door. We just dump em on the vurb and let the county pick em up....usually 2 or 3 times a year

Seriously, why? To jump in or does your neighborhood watchdogs require it? Will it hurt the lawn if you leave them?

if not, start a compost heap, mix the leaves with freshly cut grass clippings. then start a garden.

Move to a condo or a hire a 14-year-old kid to rake 'em up.

Start a compost heap or post leaf availability to the Soil, Compost and Mulch forum at Gardenweb.com. You just might find some help that way.

I know how the wind works, how your asshole neighbor to the right (rear deck right) (with the garden ball) leaves his leaves out and they all blow into your yard, and you have to fill about 50 hefty bags full of leaves into the pickup after all is said and done, and then there's that asshole neighbor to the back with his big tree hanging over your yard :7

But, hey, I'd be bitching my ass off too.

8. Got a ton and they all fell down last night

High winds and driving rain. I woke up to no power and all the pretty red and yellow leaves down.

My kids love to play in them. Then I haul them to a "Low spot" on the property and leave them.

15. It's bipolar weather

I was looking out of 5 story building's window earlier over the hills and could see rain to my left, and blue sky to my right, with wind everywhere

Luckily, I only have live oaks in my yard which stay green all year. No raking!

16. Well, our lemon, orange, apricot and plum trees haven't turned yet.

and we've got three huge California Live Oaks right next door, with tons of leaves - but the silly things are evergreens, even if they are deciduous, so they keep the same old dusty leaves all their lives, as near as I can tell......
