It's official: I'm a Democrat again

When I registered to vote in 1996, I changed my party affiliation from Democrat to Green and kept it that way for the '98, '00, and '02 elections. (Not that it's anyone's business, but I voted a straight Democratic ticket last year despite my party affiliation.)

However, when I registered to vote today, I listed my party affiliation as Democrat. Not that I've softened my opinion of the DLC or anything like that. But I do want to be able to vote in the primary. So, as of today, for the first time in seven years, I'm once again a Democrat.

What that says about my psyche and mental status is up for grabs though. I'd rather vote my conscience, but I end up voting for the lesser evil in the end because as well all know, good never wins. Maybe that means I'm also killing good by not voting for it. Oh well, in the end we lose anyway. (Please consider, I'm speaking only of myself.)

I'll be a PROUD Dem if Kucinich becomes nominated. I really should change my affiliation just to cast my vote for him, if it isn't too late.

To me, a moderate Dem is as bad as a repuke. They'll support corporate interests, but with "restrictions". The next time a puke comes in, the "restrictions" are removed. Corporate america has far too much control as it is and is doing everything and more to ensure We, The People get shut out for good.

6. because in NY there has not been a Democratic Primary

since, what... 1992? The repukes have them all the time.
This way I get to vote against the right to lifers and such at all levels in government, and hopefully keep them out of the general election, where idiots might vote them in.

But now, with a Democratic Primary looming... my vote is more important still.

BTW, some of the primaries I voted in were decided by less than a dozen votes. Very few people have time for county/local primaries.
