But it was the violence equivalent of a porn flick.

1. I loved it

But you have to be a QT fan, and understand it's an homage to all these different film genres. Very campy, IMHO.

I loved Uma. She rocks. She's too skinny, but she kicks serious ass.

6. The revenge shot...

Just as she is about to kill someone and you get that orange overlay of each of their eyes... and the chop sake revenge music.

It was great... but I'm a huge hong kong action movie fan.

I THINK I liked it.

The violence was good, the 70's thing was excelelent (the "revenge" music theme whenever the subject of revenge came up), the anime thing was cool (I was coming back from the bathroom, though, and thought I was in the wrong theater, so I missed half of it), the cliffhanger ending, the "Pussy Wagon"...

But the movie was WAAAAAYYYYYYY too slowly paced.

8. I Liked It

Stylish and visually gorgeous. Strange surreal touches and lines like "Silly rabbit -- tricks are for kids."

Felt unfinished, though (which it was). I think viewing Vol 1&2 together will probably end up being the best way to see it.

9. the opening scene

was pure Tarantino, with the two women knife fighting and then the kid walks in the door and they stop...GREAT.

I thought the scene when she first comes out of the coma and is crying for her baby was drawn out a little too long, but it did bring home the point (same with the "wiggle your big toe")

Overall, I'd say as good as Resevoir Dogs, but not as good as Pulp Fiction.

11. The Worst Movie of all time

Just what we needed - another "tribute" (otherwise known as a formulaic rip-off) to a particular "genre". It was a rip-off of a rip-off. QT ripped off Karasawa (sp?) who ripped off the American "spaghetti westerns"

12. I did

a couple days ago.

I thought it was good visually, but the story is very weak. I don't much care for Uma Thurman. I'm sure I missed some of the references/homages. I don't know who Sonny Chiba is, and didn't recognize him, though he showed up in the credits.

The violence was graphic, but after the first scene, it was so over the top as to be cartoonish.

All in all, not one of my top 100 all time favorites.

14. Fight scenes kick butt

I loved the fight scenes they were actually longer than fight scenes in the Matrix and better I thought. Especially b/c most the moves looked realistic.

The only thing that bothers me is that I want to see the ending so bad now!!!

18. Deliciously silly movie

does for Kung Fu movies what Blazing Saddles did for Westerns. I thoroughly enjoyed it. However, I will on repeat viewing likely find the pacing too slow, particularly the anime sequence.
