I'm So Excited about the Sox/Yanks Game Tonight
I can't eat. I'm having a hard time focusing on work. My stomach is in knots.

This is the pitching match up of the century. Two future hall of famers. A Red Sox team that broke the 1927 Slugging Record set by Murderer's Row. And a Yankee team that seems to win key games in October.

Good luck to everyone. I've been happy here that the discourse has been more civil since Saturday's incidents. Enjoy the Game!

:hi:

2. When you did that yesterday they won!
Oh please please Red Sox! Don't let us go back to our cynical ways!

11. Yes, and it's the way they won--coming from behind!
And what's-his-name's lousy throw that started the rally!

3. A thug on the mound from each team
Clemens and Martinez - both thugs.

MLB loves thugs and fan interferences because it drives up the ratings. Just like NASCAR loves crashes.

Enjoy the SHOW.

6. Rose, be rational: It's just a game
Don't set yourself up to get Red Sox forehead, an injury caused every year in September or October when horribly disappointed Red Sox fans suddenly begin banging their heads against hard objects following crucial, crucial at-bats. I used to suffer from Red Sox forehead myself, and Red Sox ulcer, and Red Sox reflux... I was cured by moving out of New England.

I have done so of my own accord, of ye of little faith!

13. I have Red Sox wrinkles
and a chapped lower lip from biting it.

Yes, my ulcer now has an ulcer but as a Sox fan, it's to be expected.

7. AND I HAVE TO WORK!!! WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!
I'm a nurse in an intensive care unit and cant find anyone to trade shifts with. These are people that hate baseball too! SHIT!!!
The TVs in the rooms only get 3 channels, ABC, CBS, and the Mexican station so I cant peek at probably the greatest Red Sox game to date!
SHIT!!!!
Why do these other nurses torture me so????
I'll be calling my sons at home every 20 minutes for an update.

Go Sox! Break one off in the Bambino's ass tonight!

We've been here before. I have confidence but, man oh man, I can't wait for the pregame show at 7! All this nervous energy and I'm knitting up a storm! :D

16. Good luck from a New Yorker
I don't feel like talking smack with Sox fans. I can appreciate passion from any team's fans.

I'm also anxious. This is a very courageous and resilient Red Sox team. All the momentum seems to be on the side of the Sox. They have been clutch when a lot of teams usually cave.

I hope we have a clean game and both pitchers bring their best stuff.

Good luck to all.

12. Hey--NYC and Boston are the convention cities in '04.
I'm not a big baseball fan, but it seems metaphorical that the team that has the most money and "always wins" (Republican convention) is pitted against the underdogs (Democratic convention.) I'm rooting for the underdogs! No offence to New York. I love that state. :-)

18. I love NYC too, but the analogy fits
big money and ratings is what drives the Yankee organization and TV market.

19. So..
Repubs and the Yanks are similar in that they "always win?" Um... i know the Yankees always win- but repubs? The analogy is a nice attempt but..

20. come on, you can obviously see the flaws in your logic,
but since you insist on giving me carpal tunnel syn., I will continue. The Yankees do not "always" win, yet the have won more than their fair share in recent years. So have the pukes (4 out of 6 of the last presidential elections).

21. The Yanks have big money

And no, they don't always win...Anaheim and Arizona come to mind.

The Red Sox don't have the money to renew the contracts of Manny, Pedro, Nomar and Lowe. To the Yankees, that wouldn't be an issue.

Are you here to stir up trouble again? We've been trying to maintain a civil tone....

22. Not stirring up any trouble today..
just don't like to see my fav team compared to soulless repubs. i'm sure you understand. If subtle yankees bashing makes today any easier for you, then go right ahead- just don't expect me to keep quiet.

23. I love NYC. My intention wasn't to "bash" anyone.
What I don't know about baseball could fill a library.I suppose I should stay away from baseball discussions. If I offended anyone I'm sorry. I had a fleeting thought, and was insulted for it. Lesson learned.
