RELAX! It's only a game! (Especially you, Will!)
Really! Is the world going to end if the Red Sox lose? Is it going to tilt? Will Bush leave office? Will there be world peace? Will I be able to quit smoking? Will the stock market crash? I mean, what's the big damn deal? What does it really matter in the big picture? Why do we get so excersized about this stuff? It's toyland, not the real world. So now, do you hate me? :-)

1. I was extremely disappointed about the Cubs
but truth be told they were out-pitched last night. I hope Boston wins but, boy, was I ever looking forward to a Boston-Chicago game.

2. Hi, CMT!
I don't think we've ever met. I was sad about the Cubs too...and I would love to see the Red Sox finally win. My 89 year old mother is a Red Sox fanatic...in a way I think it keeps her going...but William Pitt (my son, by the way) is over the top and I posted this to needle him a bit about it. :hi:

3. Not so much that the Sox win
If they don't, I hope the Marlins humiliate the Yankees like the Diamondbacks did.

The Yankees don't bother me as much as they used to, I just utterly despise NYC with every fiber of my being.

4. IF...and that's a big "if"...the Sox season ends tonight
Our annual misery will be over. This Lounge may return to its regular normalcy and we can all settle down to asking everyone anything because of whatever reason.

Otherwise we get at least 4 games of doing it all over again versus the Fish. :D

I want the latter but, of course, I'll accept either. Not a whole lot of choice in the matter.

11. If Bush would leave the White House cause the Red Sox lose...
I think Will, Matcom and these other dieheard liberal Red Sox fans would be the first to jump on board and pray for their Sox to lose tonight!!

15. Hee...does he listen to you Raven?
I bet he doesn't. :-) But it's cute to watch him get all excited. Imagine what he's gonna be like if the Sox win tonight...hee.

I have teams that I care that passionately about so I can't give the long-time Sox fans on the board any grief.

It is just a game and it isn't the most important thing in the world. But, maybe we need that in our lives. We all spend so much of ourselves caring about the bigger picture and trying to stop the world from careening toward hell in a handbasket that we need things like sports to give us a release valve.

If the Sox lose tonight the sun will come up tomorrow and we'll all get back to work. On the flip side, if the Sox win tonight *crosses fingers*...the sun will come up tomorrow and we'll all get back to work. :-)
