Cool... you can say "balls" on tv now...
I first noticed last week on Will and Grace, then on a recent episode of ER, and now tonight on Whoopi.

BALLS is ready for primetime! whoohoo!

3. *blink* oh.
Well, that's something new, then.

About two months ago Comedy Central aired the South Park movie.... uncensored.

Every word in the book, and a couple phrases I hadn't heard before.

Not many... just a couple.

4. I remember when "boobs" was allowed
Every game show found some excuse to have someone shout "boobs". It was remarkably stupid.

Network TV is dead. You can say pretty much whatever you want on the high channels as long as there's a disclaimer. Heck, Pride TV shows hardcore gay videos after midnight.

6. nope not a major advance...
but a nice break from the silly linguistic puritanism that has ruled for decades.

9. there's nothing low about it...
it's a perfectly acceptable word.

If you're worried about the little kiddies hearing it, then don't let 'em watch TV.

As an adult with no children and no intentions of having one, I'm sick and tired of everything being geared toward the most puritanical elements in our society.

That being said, I'm all for labeling products so parents can make informed decisions.

But don't tell me that I can't hear the centuries-old word "balls" on TV because some prudes might get offended.

10. I would agree
and, additionally, I'm mad as hell over it.

How DARE those of you with kids even try to influence what's acceptable and available to ME, a childless, unmarried adult?

I make the sacrifice of extra hours when you can't find a sitter.

I- barely- tolerate the periods of time on TV when your kids might be available to see it.

I tolerate censorship on ALL computers in my public library, even though I'm an adult and don't need to be 'protected'.

THOSE OF YOU WITH KIDS- protect your kids. Keep them safe.

But don't you dare affect my life or lifestyle in the process. At all. PERIOD.

7. CBS had a movie with "bullshit" a while back
Letterman took it and ran with it. He showed the clip where the kid says "bullshit" over and over, the profanity coming through loud and clear. Then Dave would say something like "See, Paul, now we can say 'bull****' on TV." He did it over and over, loud and clear on the clip, bleeped when he said it. What a riot.

13. I coulda sworn I heard it on Mad TV...
and one or two other places in the past couple of weeks. "Ballsack," too.

And Comedy Channel's gonna have to stop bleeping the lounge acts now that Reno 911 let a "motherfucker" slip through

(More heart attacks in the Bible Belt.)

14. I thought shit was acceptable now on tv...
But they're still bleeping it and avoiding it. Also...I love it that they can say BALLS. They keep avoiding stuff that everyone...even 6 year olds say everyday!

15. "shit"
has been allowed in a few 10:00pm dramas. I don't think it's made the 8:00-10:00 time slot yet.
