1. Hey, I must be clairvoyant or something. . .
to predict Yankees winning in 7 games!
and here's the thread to prove it (scroll down to the end and read rest of message) "Yankees in SEVEN 'barn-burners'"

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=105&topic_id=260245

Yep, all 7 games were "nail-biters" and "cardiac-arrest-inducers", all right.

Now on to the World Series!
My new prediction: Yankees in 6 games. All nail-biters.

:kick::kick::kick::kick::kick::kick:

P.S. Too bad. Now we won't get to see LynneSin's nekkid one!!

2. Matcom, as Neither a Yankee or Red Sox Fan
that is one of the nicest consolation speeches I've ever heard.

You're right up there with big Al in class.

4. Damn Yankees!!!!
I hate them.

Worse than Nixon.

Worse than Hitler.

Worse than anything.

I will not watch this series.

I hope BOTH teams lose.

Can you tell I'm from Boston?

You want the Patriots winning the Super Bowl? Let me check how the Bruins or Celtics or doing and maybe we can expand from there.

8. We CRUSHED their ace? I think you are mistaken
Mussina won the game for them.

While I'm here let me ask some what if's:

1. I think a good right fielder (like Dwight Evans) would have caught Jeter's double.

2. How close was Ortiz' last shot to a homer?

11. He's talking about The Rocket
Boston beat up on the Rocket last night. And Martinez was masterful; had they pulled him at the end of the seventh the game might have turned out differently. I'm just glad Roger gets another chance to go out with a big win. I hope he does it. He's a lock for Hall of Fame.

Mussina was terrific! Rivera was Da Man! But Martinez just scares the crap outta me. Eight innings and he's still throwing 94 mph!

12. good "what if's" NY er -- but for me the turning point in the game
came in the 8th inning. That's when Pedro Matrinez was losing it early on.

The Manager came out to the mound, and in a moment of hubris, Pedro said he wanted to stay in. Ka-boom. Next thing you know it's a tie ball game, and Pedro is skulking off the field to a vociferous cresendo of boos from the Yankee fans.

The manager really screwed up when he listened to Pedro in the 8th, and left him in the game.

As a Red Sox fan since 1948, I have seen these kinds of bonehead decisions sink our chances time and again. It's fate. A curse, I tell you. Aaahhhhhgggggghhhhh ! I go crazy.

But...wait till next year !

10. Thanks, Matcom
Well said. I was going to do the same if the Sox won.

It was a helluva series; perhaps the best I've seen in my 31 yrs. I really thought you guys had it in the 8th. My heart was sunk. Pedro was the man the whole game. But somehow, my boys pulled it out.

Bravo to the Sox on a great season and a wonderful series.
