I love DU, but I couldn't help but notice in the article accompanying the current hate mailbag Rush's weight is equated with his drug/truth problems. Thanks a lot. I'm fat myself, and am tired of weight being an OK prejudice around here.

But, if any conservative is overweight, that seems to automatically get put on the list of "attributes" that are fair game to make fun of. Also, women (Ann Coulter, Linda Tripp) are especially singled out for appearance trashing. My point is there are so many other negatives with these people we can focus on that appearance should be far down on the list, if on it at all.

and always have been. Do I like it ? No. Do I care if people diss Rush ? No. People who know me know ME. Anyone who doesn't know me and thinks less of me because I'm fat as shit has their own problem. Another fat girl weighing in here. (pardon the pun! LOL) And Love Bug, I've seen more people dissing TOO SKINNY girls here, than I have anyone dissing on fat girls. It's not an ok prejudice here...But if you can't make fun of yourself, then you need to lighten up.
