James Garner to join cast of "8 Simple Rules"
Read this in the Baltimore Sun--James Garner, 75, will join the cast of ABC's "8 Simple Rules" to fill the void left by the unexpected death of John Ritter. The well-liked Garner will play Katy Sagel's father.

Well they struck gold on this one. Garner is one of televisions most liked actors and if the show had to continue (and I've seen the show--it isn't that great)they couldn't do better than to bring in this old hand.

1. Rockfish!
He's a chimp spanker, too! Once compared Bu$h to an angry child on the Charlie Rose Show.

I've seen one ep of 8SR and agree with your assessment.

Now bring back Angel (from Rockford) as the kids' guidance counselor. :P
