Super Brilliant Demonstration Ideas!
My roommate Ulex is a marketing genius. She has Super-Ninja Political-Idea Marketing Powers. A couple nights ago we were talking about anti-war demonstrations that would grab the public's attention. Here are a couple of things she came up with:

The "Casualty Count." Get people to dress in military surplus clothes. Assemble as many people as have died in the war...Continue for a week, letting the public see the numbers grow. Assemble in silence in a public place.

The Sock Drive. Hold "Support the Troops" rallies to collect socks, underwear, food, and other supplies for the soldiers. Act "patriotic" while showing how undersupplied the soldiers are.

I want Ulex herself to sign up on DU, but she's really busy.

1. suppose we have a 'body armor drive'...
they're short on bullet-resistant devices....maybe we could send the troops a few vests? (and shame the Bush Regime while we're at it?)

3. Wasn't there a poster from the '60s...
...that said something like "I dream of the day when the schools have all the money they need, but the Army has to hold a bake sale?" What I would like to know is where did all the money go that you folks can be spending megazillions on war toys, and the Army still has to hold bake sales...and the schools are still underfunded!
