Comment on my Manifesto!! (a little long)
My fellow Americans, there is a traitor in the White House, yet the Bush administration is curiously uncurious as to who it may be. The attempted murder of a CIA operative and as many as 70 of her contacts was committed back in July, yet no action was taken until Ambassador Wilson himself launched a campaign in attempt to bring the traitor or traitors to justice.

Bush himself is on record as saying he is not sure if the guilty person will be found. This does not increase confidence in this administration’s ability to accomplish anything. If treason in the White House cannot be stopped, how can Bush expect to stop Osama Bin Laden or Saddam Hussein?

In fact, since the stolen 2000 election, this administration has shown a remarkable ability to do nothing but benefit themselves and their circle of cronies.
Tax cuts for their friends, secret government contracts for their business partners, and gutting of environmental laws for their corporate pals have all been done while the economy falters, the our air, water and food sources become more polluted, and box cutters are still able to be smuggled onto airliners.

The worst crime of all has been the invasion of Iraq. This was an action that was based upon lies. The administration told us, the American people, that Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction: nuclear, chemical, and biological weapons, and that he was prepared to attack the United States in the near future.
The administration also tried to make it seem as if Saddam Hussein had something to do with the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. The Bush Administration knew that none of this was true. Bush lied, and soldiers died. In fact, soldiers are continuing to die every day in Iraq. Every time you hear about a new death in Iraq, remember that it is because George W. Bush lied.

In addition to the ongoing deaths of hundreds of US soldiers, and uncounted Iraqi civilians, the invasion has caused many other problems for us. Our long-time allies, who tried to advise us against this action, have been insulted and ridiculed by Secretary Rumsfeld and others in this administration. The United States, so well-loved by so many around the world, has become almost a pariah among civilized countries. We have lost our moral authority among nations. It will take generations and much sacrifice to reclaim it.

And what about the terrorist attacks that happened on American soil on September 11, 2001? The Bush administration is also resisting a full investigation into what happened on that dreadful day. I wonder why? Almost all of the hijackers that took part in those atrocities were from Saudi Arabia. None of them were from Iraq. The only existing, official report on the attacks has the pages dealing with Saudi Arabia blacked out. I wonder why? It has been confirmed that many prominent Saudis, including members of the Bin Laden family, were smuggled out of America and back to Saudi Arabia after the attacks. This was done at a time when American citizens were banned from the skies. I wonder why? Why was it so important that these foreign citizens be rushed back to their country, while Arab American citizens were being swept off the street and jailed, and denied their civil rights? Could it possibly be because the Bush family has such close and lucrative business ties to the ruling family of Saudi Arabia? All this secrecy gives the appearance that Bush is putting his own interests above the safety of this country.

Those terrorist attacks have resulted in a great undermining of Liberty in this country. The PATRIOT act has allowed the government access to our library records, our credit card statements, our bank transactions, our telephone conversations, secret searches of our homes, and other indignities that our founding fathers would have never put up with. And now the Justice Department, headed by John Ashcroft, wants to take it even further. He wants to be able to strip Americans of their citizenship, and deport them to countries where torture is practiced as law enforcement. If this administration labels you as a “terrorist” you have no rights to due process as is outlined in our Constitution. A very easy way to ensure there are no dissidents. Imagine what would have happened to the perpetrators of the “Boston Tea Party” under today’s climate. They would have been arrested as terrorists and sent to Guantanemo Bay, never to be heard from again.

And this is exactly what has happened in the Wilson affair. Ambassador Wilson called the Administration on its lies, and they tried to kill his wife in revenge. Treason, I call it. Treason!

“Those who would sacrifice essential liberty for security deserve neither liberty nor security.” Benjamin Franklin.

3. Thanks to both of you!
:hi:

Now I've got to figure out what to do with it.
I'm thinking of maybe carrying a copy with me at all times to give to people who might be interested.
