50. I love that episode!

I'm so pissed off that they cut all references to the WTC when it airs. We shouldn't be "erasing" the towers from our memories just because they had a tragic ending. Tragedy is a part of life and we shouldn't ignore the good memories because of the bad. Can you imagine erasing all references to JFK or Pearl Harbor from our movies, books and television shows?

The towers were there and we loved them - well ok, some people thought they were really ugly - but many of us loved them! ;-)

Sorry, didn't mean to ramble ... I just miss them and I hate it when they're "deleted" - It's bad enough they've been taken from our skyline. Do they have to be taken from everywhere else? :-(

On a positive note - I love this thread! I'm glad so many movies "preserved" the towers.

2. My heart jumps and I feel butterflies in my stomach whenever I see...
... the World Trade Center towers in any movie or TV show repeat. It still shows up in Friends repeats and I've seen it in Sex and the City repeats as well.

40. I do as well.
Though Sex and the City did edit them out of the opening credits and out of some episodes as well. Though there is one episode (season 4, pre-LIHOP) where she picks up a paperweight filled with water with a little model of the NYC skyline inside it, the Towers being oversized as the predominant feature. She says something like "sometimes life gets too monotonous and you just have to shake things up a little," and she shakes it, and the camera zooms in on the glitter swirling around the towers. Though I know it's just a line from a TV show it's still unsettling whenever I watch it.

48. kind of a related topic -- check out cover of New Yorker, Aug 2001
About a month before the attacks. It shows a bunch of kids building replicas of famous NY landmarks (Chrysler Building, Empire State, the WTC) in the sand at the seashore.

TV: I think that "NewsRadio" and certainly "Saturday Night Live" and "Late Night with David Letterman" had quick glimpses of the towers in their opening sequences.

49. I'll never forget that scene in Godspell
"All For The Best" ended with the cast dancing on top of one of the towers - and it wasn't finished yet! There's scaffolding all around the top floors. The cover of the soundtrack CD shows them dancing on the roof, but you can't see the scaffolding. It's still a cool shot!
