I mean, in 1990, it was only Kirk vs Picard.

Those were the days.

Today, we have to dredge through Kirk, Picard, Sisko, Janeway, Archer, April, Pike, Harriman, and scores of others I don't know about because I don't watch every episode of every spinoff. I'd include Sulu, but (a) he never got a real chance and (b) some idiot perverted the history by retroactively adding Voyager cardboard character Tuvok into Sulu's crew in an absolutely horrible episode... :puke:

For the record, Kirk and Picard have their strengths. All the others are cardboard cutouts of Picard.

1. kirk, picard, sisko

They all have their weaknesses and strength.

For some reason i always say Kirk, even though deep down i feel that both Sisko and Picard were much more capable.

Sisko was a straight on, Captain but he was abit too impulsive, Picard was in my opinion almost perfect.

I think Riker became a great captain too.

But the family Kirks crew became was unmatchable.

The rest (Janeway, Archer, whatever)doesn't even come close

About Tuvok.. he actually appeared in Movie nr 6, he serves Sulu tea in the beginning of the movie

I grew up in the age of TNG. They were coming up with it just after I was born.

By the time I was old enough to really care about Star Trek, DS9 was coming to a close. I knew the best times were behind me.

So I've watched as much of the old stuff as I can... and though I still watch Enterprise, I watch it as Sci-Fi on its own merits. I see no connection to actual Star Trek.

It's not a matter of captain versus captain anymore with Star Trek. It's a matter of when Rick Berman is going to stop devolving it into sex and violence.

3. I'm no Trekkie, but
I say we narrow it down to the major ones: Kirk, Picard and Janeway.

4. janeway was NOT a major one

She didnt do ANYTHING major.

If you want the major Captains you have Kirk (we all know kirk), Picard(we all know him too), Sisko (The guy that STARTED and ended the Dominion war)

And Spock (Major guy of the Khitomer treaty, (alliance between Klingons and Federation))

Only thing janeway did was to get lost and fight some aliens of the week, while Sisko and Picard fought against the Dominion
