Poll question: MST3K: Mike Nelson or Joel (Hodgson) Robinson?
Who was the better host? I prefer Mike, personally, but Joel's funny too. I also prefer Bill Corbett's Crow to Trace's original.

As a matter of fact, I was saving up so I could donate to DU, and thereby post this poll myself. (Of course I still will :-) )

Joel is the only one, ever!

"I'm already alone, aren't I?"

On edit: Hikeeba!

3. liked both
But Mike was a writer for the show, so it wasn't like he came out of nowhere

5. Joel was better as the host,
Edited on Sun Oct-19-03 07:47 PM by tridim
but Mike was brilliant as a supporting character, including the infamous Torgo, "Let me.. just get.. your complimentary crazy bread".

Do do do dee do do do dee... :D

On edit: I should mention that Joel is one of my all time favorite people on earth, so I'm a bit biased. I've been Joel for halloween countless times. Once I found the red jumpsuit, the rest of the costume was a breeze.

7. Went with Mike--it was a close call, though
Why did Joel leave? Did he think he was gonna make it big elsewhere?????????????????????

8. I think Joel was going to persue his career in stand-up.
Early on I heard he was being booked in some of the comdey clubs but I lost track of him.

11. He's writing now
specifically for the Jimmy Kimmel show. No, I don't get it. He should be doing much more with his talent.

10. I voted for Joel
but this was not a vote against Mike because he did a first rate job too.

Joel just had the had that dumb deadpan look that was funny.

15. That is my good friend John Brady...
...in the shower scene. He is cool and riotously funny. and almost had a part in "Fargo."

13. After reading "Death Rat"
I am convinced that Mike was the better host and a better writer. I like Corbett's crow better, as well.

14. They're both brilliant. I love seeing Mike in bit parts from the earlier
episodes.

Like when he played Torgo in the Manos: Hands of Fate skit.

16. Mike was damned good, but Joel was the originator

And besides, the lion's share of the best MST3Ks were the Comedy Central episodes, most of which Joel hosted.

MOVIE: "The house is made of adobe."
TOM SERVO: "Gillis."
