In fact, this summer I did three century rides. I just rode 40 miles today as a matter of fact.

And, yes, I shouldn't ask questions of other people that I'm not willing to answer myself.

19. I am thinking about picking up road biking since I think I broke/cracked..

a rib on my mtn bike last week. My area is just soo freaking awesome for biking, both on and off road. I really don't have too much desire to road bike, but it would likely be safer, and the way my mtn biking friends talk about road riding out here makes me feel I am letting an awesome responsibility go away.

I don't feel like dropping the $ though now for a decent road bike.

Don't fool yourself, though. You can still hurt yourself on a road bike. Last week I hit a patch of gravel and the wheels slid right out from underneath me. I couldn't disengage my SPD pedals quickly enough and before I knew it, I was on the ground. Ended up with some nasty road rash on my calf and my arm. But then again, if it doesn't hurt, you're not really having some serious fun. ;-)
