Poll question: Best song from the 80s that I REFUSE to be ashamed of liking
OK, get your flamethrowers ready, but I'm tired of all the 80's bashing! I like these songs, I don't care how cheesy they are! Maybe for some of you, this will bring back memories (wanted or not).

1. "Just The Two of Us"....
I will defend just about anything Bill Withers worked on. And it's a good song.

8. Those are from the 80s?
Edited on Mon Oct-20-03 08:35 AM by NicoleM
I've never heard of any of them. What about Debbie Gibson and Tiffany and NKOTB? New Kids were huge when I was in the seventh grade, and I'm proud to say that I was the only girl in my class who openly hated them. However, I only recently got over my fondness for "I Think We're Alone Now" by Tiffany.

Edit: Kellanved, I prefer "Rock You Like A Hurricane" to "Winds of Change." Maybe it's because I can't whistle.

11. Yeah, but let's be honest, after
1985, most 80's music SUCKED! Most of the good songs were from 1980-85.

12. Goody Two Shoes
by Adam Ant. (1982)

I LOVE that song!

GOODY TWO SHOES
Adam Ant

With the heartbreak open
So much you can't hide
Put on a little makeup makeup
Make sure they get your good side good side

If the words unspoken
Get stuck in your throat
Send a treasure token token
Write it on a pound note pound note

CHORUS:
Don't drink don't smoke - what do you do?
Don't drink don't smoke - what do you do?
Subtle innuendos follow
There must be something he's hiding

We don't follow fashion
That would be a joke
You know we're going to set them set them
So everyone can take note take note

When they saw you kneeling
Crying words that you mean
Opening their eyeballs eyeballs
Pretending that you're Al Green Al Green

No one's gonna tell me
What's wrong or what's right
Or tell me who to eat with sleep with
Or that I've won the big fight big fight

Look out or they'll tell you
You're a "Superstar"
Two weeks and you're an all time legend
I think the games have gone much too far

If the words unspoken
Get stuck in your throat
Send a treasure token token
Write it on a pound note pound note

Don't drink don't smoke - what do you do?
Don't drink don't smoke - what do you do?
(repeat)
Subtle innuendos follow, must be something inside

16. I actually have never heard a single one of these
not ever. None are even vaguely familiar.

My pick for the one I refused to be ashamed of is Cyndi Lauper's Time After Time, or Culture Club's Karma Chameleon. I love both of those songs.

25. I love the '80's
some of the best times of my life were in the in the '80's. When I hear any '80's music it takes me back to a time when life was free and easy. "Easy like Sunday morning,"...I know, cheese, cheese, cheese.

But who cares? I don't! The '80's rocked...for me anyway.
