Elle Magazine published my anti-Coulter letter
The Nov. issue has quite a few letters about the Coulter interview Elle published in September. One of the critical ones is mine.

Anybody who manages to get a letter published in a top-shelf magazine gets a salute from me, especially when it rips on that she-demon Ann Coulter.

4. some adjectives used
I won't post the letter, so I'll tell you about some of the terms appearing: "silly," "shrill," and "pathological."

5. Thank you!
Marie Claire is the only liberal fashion magazine left. The rest have taken a sharp right turn.

10. glamour has gotten better....
It was great when Ruth Whitney was in charge -- lots of pro-choice info, etc. -- but then they kicked her out and brought in Bonnie Fuller. Yuck! Awful! She's since moved on (to US?) and the mag has improved.

Mainly they are total dreck, though. Gloria Steinem wrote a great article about women's magazines and their slavish devotion to advertisers.

12. Congratulations, Hewitt!
Well done. Thanks for speaking out.

By the way, Glamour magazine sucked up to Coulter a few issues back, and I meant to write them about it. They wanted to salute outspoken women, and they chose the Dixie Chicks and Ann Coulter. To the second choice, :puke:

Picking Coulter as a ROLE MODEL in a women's magazine flies in the face of every bit of progress we've tried to make in the last 40 years or so.
