my conversation with a Freeper
Edited on Mon Oct-20-03 10:57 AM by WhoCountsTheVotes
Freeper: "Minorities are the cause of their own problems."

Me: "Racism is alive and well. When sending out identical resumes, a black sounding name like Tyrone Jackson will get less than 5% of the responses that a white sounding name like John Smith will, even when their qualifications and experience are exactly the same. That's racism."

Freeper: "That's not racism, that's because people are afraid to hire black people because if they are bad workers and you fire them, they will sue you for racial discrimination."

Me: "Actual lawsuits over racial discrimination are very rare, and when they do happen they rarely actually make it to trial."

Freeper: "It's the perception that they will."

Me: "Isn't false perceptions about minorities that lead them to be discriminated against pretty much the definition of racism?"

Freeper: (silence)

This is due to Bill O'Reilly's new book evidently. Jesse Jackson is his current boogeyman.

this is a perception people have but do you statistical evidence that a name like Tyronce Jackson will get less then 5% of the responses....and the rest you just said.

3. Freepers minds are whack...
There was some freeper-esque chick on C-SPAN this morning railing on & on about how "taxes" were thee one and only reason why her daughter and son-in-law have to have two and three jobs to make ends meet. TAXES! Crimney! They won't shut up about freaking taxes!! As though even handing back all of what is taken out would balance the difference between what is, what is not, what will never-ever be, and Nixon-Reagan-Bush1-Bush2 & Cheney busting all the unions while sending everything off-shore, to Iraq and proactively lowering the wage-base for the last 30 fucking years.

Are these people mentally defective?

5. Nice!
Beautiful argument.

When Freepers are defeated in an argument, do they hang up/log off like O'Reilly or do their heads explode (like the fembots in Austin Powers)?

6. I managed to keep my cool
but honestly, I wanted to slap him for being such a moran. Reads some stupid book by Bullshit O'Really, and he wants to go around preaching about how bad black people are.

This from someone who SHOULD be a hell of a lot smarter too.
