vocab lesson: the word electable |
|
Main Entry: elect·able Pronunciation: i-'lek-t&-b&l Function: adjective Date: 1879 : capable of being elected (as to public office) - elect·abil·i·ty /-"lek-t&-'bi-l&-tE/ noun
e·lect·a·ble ( P ) Pronunciation Key (-lkt-bl) adj. Fit or able to be elected, especially to public office: an electable candidate.
Electable. e-l-e-c-t-a-b-l-e
I see this word often used on my candiate as "unelectable" yet it means able to be elected to public office and he is capable and has done so. I am just being a smartass more so but electable heh.
