for his Wes Crusher role, Wil as an adult real-life human being has impressed the hell out of me.

I especially liked the way he made Picard uneasy in the beginning. Too bad there wasn't more of that before he was allowed to come into his own.

3. Wes was the worst written character, but Wil as a person is the BEST

TNG actor there is. Frakes has his good points, but Wes is the BEST.

I lost my faith in Patrick Stewart when he saw 2 seconds of "Red Dwarf" in the UK and had just about called his lawyer thinking it was a Star Trek: TNG ripoff... :eyes: :eyes: :eyes: :eyes: :eyes: :eyes: He then bothered to watch an extra 2 minutes and laughed at a joke when it dawned on him that, duh, it's hardly a spoof of anything let alone his pompous series! He's a good actor, but if he's going to jump for no reason... (don't believe me, check out "Red Dwarf: A to Z" on the series II 'extras' DVD disc... Under "L" as I recall.)

4. Wil gets points in my book for being an XM fan

and mentioning XM satellite radio frequently in his blog! I first saw his blog mentioned on xmfan.com, went and read some of it and was favorably impressed.

Want to see an entire Star Trek convention erupt in booing and hissing? Mention his name. For some reason, the vast majority of trekkers HATE Wil Wheaton - at least the guys do. I never understood the deep-seated loathing, unless it's pure envy.

DS9 is probably the Trek that (to me, at least) is the most 'contemporary' in terms of being able to apply their stories to present real-world situations...

I hope Santa is reading, that DS9 box set is still on my list.. and I've been good! (ok, I guess that depends on your definition of "good" :evilgrin: )

14. best about ds9

is that it has such a great continuinity almost no aliens of the week.

Im currently watching it like i watched TNG from episode 1 to the last one im on episode 7 in season 7 atm.

It started out slow by from season3 it was the best trek EVER.


What sucks though is that if you just watch season 6 or 7 and havent watched earlier episodes you dont understand stuff.. its a shame.. ds9 deserves so much more then to just be forgotten.

And what sucks more is that stuff like Voyager is more famous then ds9 :mad:


DS9 had everything you saw the federation you saw the backside of the federation, you say GIANT fleets of ships something NO series had after or before that.

I can get TNG (on the bloody Spike channel) and Voyager comes on here & there, but if DS9 is EVER on it's like 4am on a Wednesday...

though IMHO it was Voyager's popularity and attention that gave the DS9 writers a little more freedom to write actual drama and not just reset-button fluff

great, now you are putting me in a DS9 mood, and all I have to watch at home is "The Visitor" on my pc :silly:

I can't vote in the poll since I had never been to his blog before but I WILL be going back. What a cool guy and with good politics too! I was one of those people for whom Wesley Crusher grated on my last nerve. i think his character is what turned me off of TNG.

Nice to see that he has matured into a thinking human being unlike that other actor in Cali who is now running the state.

25. I used to read his blog a few times a week.

Then I got sucked into the DU vortex. I should go back, though -- it's been a couple of years, I remember back when he was still learning the programming. Back then, he'd done the entire site himself, as an exercise in learning how to do it. I thought that, in itself, was pretty cool -- and he turned out to be pretty progressive and outspoken about it, in the bargain.
