Yeah, I know. Will's not here - he's off galavanting, or whatever it is that he does these days. We hunted and hunted for PBR when he was here, but couldn't find it (in either of the 2 different places where we hunted and hunted). We had to drink <gasp> good beer instead.

Anyways, I was in the Food Lion last night, sent on a mission to bring back beer for the ball game. I spotted the 6 pack of Shiner Bock on special, and bought that, then was looking for a way to spend the remaining quarter. It came down to either a shiny gumball that promised to be too large for the human mouth, or a 12 pack of PBR. I bought the PBR, and I've just discovered, upon consuming the first one, that I made the wrong choice. Way wrong.

Good GAWD, man! How do you stomach this horse piss?!?

5. Yeah, PBR needs to be really, really ice cold
Like, just on the verge of freezing, so there's little ice crystals in the brew. Then it's potable.

6. Cheap beer sucks
Edited on Mon Oct-20-03 06:55 PM by ChompySnack
You guys really need to come to the Northwest, Portland in particular, and try some of our micro-brews. The winter beers are here (finally) and they will knock your stinky socks off!

Who would drink 6 cheap, crap tasting, beers at 3% alcohol content when you can get the same buzz for the same cost with 2-3 excellent micro-brews (at 7.5%)?

14. We only get the shiner in the fall

And, ok - this is my moment of Stuart Smalley-style honesty here - the PBR was horrendous, at first. The first one tasted of the horse urine. The second one tasted more like horse slobber. The third one tasted like, surprisingly enough, the red beans and rice with which it was consumed. And the fourth one just tasted like water. Will keep you informed as the fifth and sixth find their way down the gullet.

And on edit: You could've kept the fucking shrub to yourselves, but NO, you had to share that warm diaperload with the rest of the country. And y'all wonder why everyone thinks TX is the asshat state...

15. Honey, if it's so nasty...
then why are you still drinking it? Do we need to maybe get you to a 12-step program? :-)

16. PBR is some nasty shit...it's like, anti-cool to drink it.
At least that's what the kids here in Austin tell me.

Having said that...I DID just buy this shirt recently. It IS pretty fucking cool!

17. I don't know what PBR is,
but I know what Shiner Bock is, and that stuff is DREADFUL. If you want mineral water, drink San Pelligrino -- if you want beer, drink something from a GREAT microberwery like Victory, Rogue or Dogfish Head. There probably are some in Texas.

20. Anyone
remember Old Dutch??? It was about 25 cents a can in Ohio in the early 80's. They didn't claim to be anything but "The Good Beer".
