Poll question: Now, to be fair, let's vote for the BEST Number 1 single of the early '80s

Not sure I'll bother doing a follow-up survey covering 1985-89, but we'll see.

1. Went with Tina, could have gone with Police
It scares me that Pink Floyd is winning!

2. Why does it scare you that Pink Floyd is winning?

Is it because you don't think of them as an '80s band? Just curious...

3. Scares, but doesn't suprise me...
...people here tend to think of themselves as rock aficiandos--I just like what I like.

I just think they're not voting for Tina or the Police or any of the others just to try and prove they're not mainstream themselves!

Glad you didn't put Madonna there.

16. How are they *not* being mainstream by voting for the hit single off...

...an album that sold millions and millions of copies?

6. I went with Floyd
But I think that "Comfortably Numb" is a far superior song.

7. Hey! Where's...
The Knack: "My Sharona"
Asia: "Heat of the Moment"
Hall and Oats (various)

I know it's limited survey, but you missed a bunch! :-)

14. The Knack was 1979 (and they sucked!); Asia never hit #1; and...

...Hall and Oates made one fucking terrible record after another. Along with Billy Joel, they were the early '80s act that I hated the most!

17. Haulin' Oats
I hate these boys too, but only after Abandon Lunchenette and War Babies. Those albums were pretty good.

9. God, the 80s sucked!
Since "none of the above" isn't an option, I'll go with Prince.

12. Brick in the Wall..
..in fact the whole albumn "The Wall" was a great one to do controlled substances to.

"What's love got to do with it?" A coworker of mine who wanted make some extra money playing at weddings thought this would be the perfect song. "What's love but a second hand emotion" I don't think that's a line from a love song. Then again the guy wasn't the brightest log on the fire.
