Bored To Tears, Woman Hurls TV Out Window
<snip>

BERLIN (Reuters) - A 25-year-old German woman enraged over another Saturday night of boring television programs and dull re-runs hurled her TV set out the window of her fifth floor apartment window, police said Monday.

"There was nothing decent on so I just threw the thing out the window," the woman identified as Veronika K., told Bild newspaper.

1. Boy, she took the phrase "Kill your TV" seriously.
Who can disagree with her... TV is worse than a vast wasteland. Boob tube is right. Even The West Wing sucks now.

2. Veronica...honey...try picking up a book.
I have a few suggestions for a reading list to get you started.

Wow...I've THOUGHT about hurling my idiot box out the window, or at least rendering it a pile of plastic, but that's mostly due to the "news", not boredom.

15. Not nearly as fun to throw books out of windows.
If you throw a book out the window because it's boring, you're just a mild kook. Throw the TV out the window, and that gets people talking. :D

16. The one that REALLY gets 'em talking...
...go to the theater to see a movie. If that movie sucks, go to the projection room and throw the projector out the little window.

They'll be sure to notice you then! :-)

18. Then there's the theatre.
I've been to more than a few plays where I wanted to throw the "actors" off stage myself.

21. Yeah, and they're pretty well armed.
I don't think Veronika would do well against a spear-weilding valkyrie.

24. Well, it certainly won't be boring anymore
Problem solved! If only we could walk into any TV show carrying a spear. I'm sure we'd set things right in a hurry. Think of all those awful episodes of Star Trek Voyager that could have been fixed with a swift spear-butt thrust into someone's torso.

Really, can it get that bad on T.V.? Come one!

Either that or she's PMSing. Get her some calcium quick.

Calcium and sex.

6. Next time I see that ad for Bank-One credit cards
With that fucking book store lady, I'm going to hurl something.

That commercial gives me urges to commit extreme violence against TV ad executives.

9. Reminds me of a STNG episode
where some people from the late twentieth century were "thawed out" and revived and cured of their former terminal illnesses. One of them asked about what's on TV and they replied that the fad played out in mid twenty-first century (I believe).

Given what there is to watch, I think we're closer to accomplishing this.
