Tough Crowd w/Colin Quinn tonight was REALLY REALLY sexist
Edited on Mon Oct-20-03 11:22 PM by janekat
Just caught the last 15 minutes and it was un-f*ckin believable. They were talking about the Kobe Bryant case and the victim. I'm still in shock after seeing it.

The first part of the show they were talking about Rush Limbaugh and the black quarterback situation - which I missed - but knowing Colin Quinn - it was proabably just as bad.

Please try to tape it or watch it - it replays at 1:30 a.m. EST on CTV (Comedy TV). In Calif., I think that it will play at 2:30 a.m. and at 4:30 a.m.

I can't beleive that there won't be some ramifications for this. It was really, really, really bad.

1. It's Colin Quinn
Being unfunny, he resorts to such tactics.
Colin is not worth watching
(BTW, I'm all for shock comedy- if it's good. Usually it's crap)

2. Details?
I watched it for week and a half when it started but the racism and bigotry on it was just to much. I haven't watched a second of it since. That show proves that political correctness is a myth.

4. One of the comedians was talking about how "large" Kobe must be
because of all of the damage he did to this woman - and said something to the effect of "good job." THEN they all laughed. Greg Proops - who is pretty liberal- I think - was on the show and it looked like he was shocked. He was trying to keep it "above board."

If you can stomach it - you have to watch it because it is absolutely mind-boggling. I'm still in shock...

12. Greg is a very cool guy....
I am not surprised he didn't jump into the action with the others.

One of the funniest/most interesting afternoons I ever spent involved Greg Proops, Mike McShane (the Friar in "Robin Hood"), and the girlie mag that featured a spread of the hooker Swaggert was caught with.

Even with that provacative set-up, the guys were funny but never crude or anti-woman.

17. Colin Quinn is so NOT funny ...
He sucks the funny out of other people!

I think he knows where there's a body buried, somewhere -- he started sucking the funny out of other people about 15 years ago, on MTV. I couldn't stand him then, and I can't stand him now.

10. Why does Colin Quinn get a TV show??
The guy is NOT funny. I've only watched Tough Crowd a few times, but on each show made jokes that were met with dead silence by the audience. Message to Colin Quinn: when you're not funny, EVERY crowd is a tough crowd.

11. then they're doing their job
the show is meant to be anti-pc. if you're offended, then they're doing their job (in their eyes).

16. There's anti-pc
and then there's just plain sick. They were talking about a woman who was allegedly raped. If you find this even remotely funny, you have a problem.

18. He didn't say he found it funny
he just said the show was meant to be contreversial which is doing a good job at it. I didn't say funny I said contraversial.

13. un-f*ckin believable?
I doubt it, I seen his show quite a few times and the last time I did he made fun of the way John Ritter died by collapsing over the coach near him, I haven't watched it since.

14. Don't patronize their advertisers
Don't watch Colin Quinn.

Saying Colin is sexist or off color is like saying fire is hot.
